Sedation for Anxious Patients

If you are exceptionally nervous or anxious about dental treatment, don´t worry, you are not alone. Over the years we have treated hundreds of patients who simply couldn´t accept treatment in the usual way. Sometimes just taking the time to explain procedures can be enough, but for more challenging treatments we use the gentlest of sedation techniques which produce deep relaxation without loss of consciousness, a much safer alternative to general anaesthetics. Sometimes a drug can be taken by mouth the night before treatment to achieve this, or for longer appointments we use intra-venous sedation where a drug is given through a plastic tube in the back of the hand or arm.

Tooth Whitening

If you have stained or simply teeth that look too dark, tooth whitening can achieve a bright white new look for you. Nearly all aesthetic treatments now begin with tooth whitening to achieve the right shade for any teeth that do not require treatment. Then any crowns, bridges, implants or veneers can be matched to the new whiter natural teeth.

Tooth Coloured Fillings

If you have old, discoloured, or visible unsightly silver fillings these can be replaced with invisible tooth coloured fillings. Modern filling materials are more stain resistant and polished than previous generations.

Veneers

These are thin layers of porcelain, hand made in a dental laboratory and bonded to the front surface of teeth to correct shape, position or colour. Teeth require minimal preparation for this and the end results are natural, beautiful, straight, strong and stain resistant teeth.

Crowns

Crowns are used to restore more extensively broken down, or badly fractured teeth. In principle these are like precision made thimbles which fit very accurately over the damaged tooth. New ceramic techniques give us the ability to make crowns virtually indistinguishable from healthy undamaged teeth in all types of light.

Implants

Where teeth have been lost, implants can be used to replace them. These are artificial roots made of hi-tech titanium alloy placed into the jaw bone to which they become extremely firmly attached. A crown is then connected to the implant which looks feels and functions like a natural tooth.
