Crowns

Crowns are used to restore more extensively broken down, or badly fractured teeth. In principle these are like precision made thimbles which fit very accurately over the damaged tooth. New ceramic techniques give us the ability to make crowns virtually indistinguishable from healthy undamaged teeth in all types of light.

The most common method of crowning a tooth involves using a dental impression of a prepared tooth by a dentist to fabricate the crown outside of the mouth. The crown can then be inserted at a subsequent dental appointment
